The members of RAG FAIR have been selected out of college Acappella circles most of them from Saitama University to become a superior Acappella group in July 1999.
They have gone through several member changes to be fixed to today's members. Comprised of four vocals, bass and voice percussion, RAG FAIR is a group made of six talented gents. Their well balanced exquisite harmony, the bass and percussion part are all made from human vocal. They have started off their career on the street of Omiya station and have widen their range to live houses, weddings, cultural festivals, fireworks festivals, Christmas parties etc. In June 2001, their proficiency has attracted the staff of Fuji TV's program, "Chikaranokagiri Go Go Go!!" and has enabled them to appear on the stage of "Hamonepu", the most popular AKAPERA contest corner of the program. They have won the title as "Hamonepu Master" and have become known as the eldest brother of "Hamonepu". After showing up on TV, tickets for their shows have been all sold out.
Shortly after their debut with mini album "I RAG YOU" (December 2001), their stunning first single "LOVE LOVE NA COUPLE DE FURI FURI DE CHU" (January 2002), the joyful and spirited tune, marked fifth place in Oricon weekly chart in its first week. Then they won both the first and second place of the chart with the second single "KOI NO MILEAGE " and the third " "She" SIDE STORY" released on the same date in July of the year. This is how the story started. In the end of the year 2002 they performed on the stage of Red & White Competition broadcasted by NHK. In 2003 the first full-length album "AIR" hit the fifth place of the Oricon chart, and their first one-man tour was completed. In February they won the Music Newcomer of Golden Arrow Award. Their regular TV program "OMATASE!! RAG TEISHOKU" started in October, in which they played a host role and showed their humorous characters, curious interests in boundless guest musicians, and above all their gifted musicianship. Having established a firm nationwide popularity, on the other hand, they have brought up their interests in live performances more and more. In November 2003 they held Rag Fair's Concert vol. 1 at Tokyo International Forum and Osaka Symphony Hall.
With their second album "CIRCLE" (September 2004) which marked the seventh place in Oricon chart they completed the nationwide hall tour. Their stunning and moving performances have attracted people more widely. They acted at Nippon Budokan for the first time in the end of 2005, which gave a good impact not only to ten thousands of audiences but also to members to confirm their own profound love for music.
In October 2006 the third original album "OKURIMONO" (i.e. the gift) was released. They have just toured around the nation.
